why we can't be allowed to write our own marriage ceremony

"as part of the ceremony today, jennifer will be cutting off a lock of her hair and giving it to jeremy as a symbol of faithfulness. jeremy then will set the lock aflame in a symbol of never-ending passion. lastly, jennifer and jeremy will turn and scatter the ashes over the guests as a symbol of community. those of you not wishing to be sprinkled with the passion and faithfulness ashes are invited to find alternate seating in the back rows. alternatively an usher will be coming around with ponchos"
