nice weekend we have here

the start of our fun! or middle but more towards the start. or the middle. the whole thing just ran together into one long lovely hangout session so this could have really been any time. we woke up every morning and slid right into this mode too. (gah!iheartyouguys).

people always say things like 'you can't capture size and scale of hugeness in pictures' and in this mountain's case those people are right. this is a very large rock face in steph's front/back yard and it's most impressive and i want one.

up north bears blow their nose on logs. just kidding it's fungus! as if bear boogers would be this orange unless bears were drinking too much crush.

steph looked at this picture on our camera and said 'it's cute but we're wearing sweaters around our waists' which is so hilariously the first thing you notice but dang it, i love it anyways! welcome to your tie your sweater around your waist because it's easier than carrying it years.

look how pretty steph is!! that air and true love is good for you.

there's about five of these shots and my head is blocking jeremy in all of them. do you think that says something? probably but i'm too busy thinking only of myself to notice.

the teeniest tiniest snail ever. i liked his teeny tiny shell affixed with teeny tiny saddle.

dear boardwalk, you are cute.

also i just remembered that ryan told a story about a turtle on this boardwalk which maybe answers why he brought up a flying tortoise a few times later on in the night! steph you have a keeper! i love when old people say that.

ryan is serious about snacks here. but really, who isn't? snacks are a serious matter and anyone who doesn't think so needs to take a good hard look at their lives and how they're living them.

outdoor jeopardy! beep beep beep! i liked beeping in more than answering. but if my answer was correct i liked both things equally. (also meet my new hat. hat, meet everyone).

probably fake mushroom that steph and ryan made out of play-dough and placed in nature to surprise me.

xooxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxxoxoxooxxoxox my soon-to-be husband.

this is canada's longest suspension bridge! ryan told us a bridge in bc took the longest suspension bridge title away from this place for a brief period and then this bridge heard about it and built another bridge even longer to reclaim the title. yeah bridge rivalry!!

it was very high up. even though it wasn't a particular breezy day it really moved like you were in the air without much support. like i mean it's supported and safe and secured in the ground with giant steel cables, but the air cuts through you and the sound is silent and you can imagine how great it feels to be a bird.

whenever jeremy wears this sweater i love him a teensie bit more because it's the sweater he wore when he asked me to marry him. plus it has neat handle things on the shoulders which are handy for hugging/other activities.

oh hey what's up we're just in the woods. there's some berries on this path so let's stop and eat some of those on the way down to this amazing canyon river bottom. you know, just another day in northern lovely natureland.

this place is called hoito and it's a famous finnish co-op restaurant in thunder bay which is 1 part hall 1 part cafeteria and 10 parts delicious everything. i had a plain ol cheeseburger which was tasty supremo so i can't even imagine what ryan's finlandia burger was like.

jer had a salt fish sandwich (also amazing) and the four of us shared two slices of pie because we were on an adorable double date from the 60's.

dear hoito, you are also cute.

THANK YOU STEPH AND RYAN! you know when family members move somewhere and you go visit them and you feel like you're from that place now too cause you have roots there and it's no longer a stranger?

i like my new northern roots.
xx
